Birthdays

So each year about a month before their birthdays the girls start to do things a little out of their norm.
Well why should Alyx and Ruthie be any different? They are not, it just took me until today to figure out our interesting week. Alyx will be 3 tomorrow and Ruthie will be 2 on Monday.
It all started yesterday, with Alyx and Ruthie deciding that they were going to re-arrange their dresser drawers. There are 6 drawers total and 5 1/2 were completely EMPTY. All while they were supposed to be napping. I have a friend that said that she thought sweet darling Alyx takes advantage of Ruthies somewhat misbehaving ways. Well, Ruthie got caught (literally) with her hand in the drawer. She was stuck so I had to help her out. What was Alyx doing? Trying to dress herself in a different array of clothing. Finally, today I got the task completed of cleaning up their clothes.
So, I thought today would be different. The day started out nice and sweet. With Roo and Alyx cuddling on the couch with me while watching Boo's Poo's (Blues Clues). They even played Ring Around the Rosie with each other holding hands. Ruthie trying to sing and Alyx giggling away. Oh so cute.
Today, I made a note to myself that I do not care if the dog does not like to be petted or bothered by the "little 2" I have GOT to keep my bedroom door shut. Why you may ask? Well, because Abbie and Kamryn's school supplies are being kept in my bedroom. This morning I found myself wondering where Alyx and Ruthie were and why is it soooo quiet. It was because they had the markers out and were drawing all over things in my bedroom. Including the sheets on my bed!!! They were smart, they shut my bedroom door so I would not hear them!
My double trouble is now napping peacefully in their beds. Hopefully, when they awake we have no more incidents for the day!

Life Lessons

Ok, the worst thing about being a mom is teaching life lessons. And by teaching them, I mean making the mistake that they made the worst thing that they could have ever done. That way they will never do it again.
So at my sister in laws house on Sunday. Abbie and Kamryn decided that it would be fun to put a x on the ugly Jonas Brother and circle the other two with a tac. Problem? They did this to my nieces Jonas Brothers poster that she got at the concert earlier that week...for her birthday.
Punshment was calling Bre and telling her they were sorry, writing her a note saying why they were sorry, they are grounded for a week-no tv, and having to play in their room, and they have to do chores around the house to pay for a new poster for Bre. A little extreme for a poster? Maybe, but I have been trying to teach them about respect for another person's property. And well sisters just don't care about another sisters toy. So now I hope the point has gotten across!
